Anyone remember restaurants, snack bars, or diners from your childhood that you miss and wish were still around?

The first fast food place I remember was Wetson's Hamburgers (well, besides White Castle) - don't know what happened to them. Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips was a favorite, and of course when I was a little girl we'd often go to Nedick's for a hot dog on a New England style bun and an orange drink. Oh, and I just thought of White Tower....

Growing up there was a local ice cream parlor - Freedrick's - that had the best home made ice cream and chocolates. If you bought a gill, half pint, pint, or half gallon, so much ice cream was packed into it that the flaps of the carton couldn't be folded down at all - a piece of waxed paper was put on top. My favoirte was "Mexican Mountains" - ice cream pops made in cone-shaped paper cups; the paper was removed and the ice cream dipped in various coatings - chocolate, cherry, butterscotch. They also had something called "Twosdays" - an ice cream soda in a special glass that had a little cup attached to each side of the top, and had a mini sundae in it.

Then in high school, me best friend was a girl whose parents owned and ice cream parlor/snack bar called The Garden Spot. Good burgers!

As a teen I would go out with my BF after eating dinner at home, and almost every night I had the same snack at Jahn's Ice Cream Parlor: a fruit cup, pizzaburger, fries, real (non-diet) Coke, and a banana split. I was a size 7. {#emotions_dlg.crying} I was sad to hear they closed some years go.

Anyone else?
