Getting rid of odors in Lock N Lock

I used a large Lock N Lock to mix a homemade fabric softener concoction and the scent remains rather strong in the container. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the scent? I have not tried to use it for anything else. I do not know if the scent would have a flavor transfer of some kind to other food.
