Interestingly enough for me because I enjoy cooking & baking - I always hosted all major celebrations & holidays (when I was here). I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of it!
I have been tempted to purchase some of the food items as they look delicious, the only thing I had was the juniors holiday cheesecake.
In fact today I was going to make my famous crumb coffee cake - (made in 1/2 sheet cake pan) as I'm having house
guests for the week. I thought it would be a nice breakfast filler then I started thinking - it
takes 8 c. Flour, 4 c. Sugar, 1 lb. butter, 8 eggs, etc.) and yikes expensive!
Its a gorgeous day here so I made a little potato salad, deviled eggs, sausage w/peppers & onions. Headed to store for hoagie rolls & while in there picked up a nice danish for company. Publix has a great bakery, prep food area & always fresh.
We are finding for the 2 of us eating out and keeping life simple is working just great for us!
You are fortunate you still have good health & obviously enjoy cooking/baking. I do to, unfortunately, many who watch Q can't or it's easier.
My take is ITKWD is no longer about finding kitchen items/gadgets it reaching the customer who is willing to pay for the convenience (my kids don't cook Wegmans does!) so to "pamper" us long time Q shoppers they put some kitchen items (repetitive) to satisfy everyone! Which is OK because I just check the show online anyway.

I don't mind the shows but the prices are a real WOW factor! If you buying food, NEVER put it on easy pay! What's worse than eating the food the first month and still paying for it 4 months later? I try some food that lets me make a couple of meals for their price or I figure it out how much would it cost me to go out and eat that dish and if it seems like a good deal, I buy it! I'll never buy a cake for $50 especially when I can buy a whole cake for $18 at the local bakery. Anything I can pull out of the freezer whenever and make a quick meal is worth it if I don't have to bake it myself or drive to get it! It's all about what you like and is it worth your time and money!

I bought a Masterbuilt electric smoker (two in fact) and make my own BBQ ribs, thank you very much and I have been making my own mac and cheese from my grandmother's recipe since I was 10 years old. Why in the world would I want to buy it ready made and have it shipped to me from half way across the country? I can buy ingredients locally at a whole foods market and make my own snack mix for pennies on the dollar of what they sell it for on air. I bake my own cakes, pastries, and cookies and if I don't feel like baking, I have a local bakery that does an excellent job and they are not nearly as expensive plus there is no shipping.
I am so frustrated with the turn QVC has taken in recent years (and I have been a loyal customer since before the name change to QVC by the way) I'm just about to remove them from my favorite channel lineup and just say I'm done!

I don't know about you but I can tell you why others might want to order and have it shipped to them.
1) They work hard to put food on their table, help kids with homework, etc. They don't have time to shop and cook.
2) They live with a chronic illness and don't have the strength or energy to shop and cook.
You have to think outside the box, we're all different and have different needs.

The food offered on QVC is overpriced for many of us, but there are older people with limited mobility, people living in remote regions, and some people who just don't like to cook, who are willing to pay for the convenience. I was never so surprised as when I found that both my daughter and daughter in law don't really like to cook. They cook for their families because they have to, but if they had the money, they would go for the prepared and shipped directly to you food. I do buy the pot stickers for my daugher and her family, because she sometimes works over supper and her husband likes an easy, not very fattening, food to make for the family.

A couple of years ago, my husband, daughter and I all got really sick maybe a week before Thanksgiving.DH usually cooks the turkey, I do everything else.
That year, no one felt good enough to do anything, but we saw an ad for a high-end market that made the entire meal for you to order, interchangeable sides. OMG, the answer to our prayers! When we picked it up, it was all packaged so nice, kept in a huge cooler, just heat and eat. It was God-send. We had the meal and leftovers, and all we had to do was the dishes.
I can see why some people like to get a little help around the holidays.

Oh my gosh, I was having "unexpected" company in town for Tgiving one year (2 children & 3 adults)- we were already planning on going to our club for dinner.
Then I got to thinking: the club price was $28.95/pp+18% gratuity+7% tax - drinks not included. That was approx. $33/pp - no way!
A friend suggested i get the dinner at our local restaurant (take out & heat). It was so good we did it the following year!!!
No fuss, no mess, no being in the kitchen all day or cleaning up!!!

I thought of one more thing:
Q is no different than other retailers. My niece uses Blue Apron & Fresh (I think) they deliver once a week all she has to do is cook it. They even have their groceries delivered from local store.
And I feel lots of viewers are faithful & tune into ITKWD and this is a good time to sell food with offering kitchen related items (although I have seen a lot of time wasted on TSV lately - what does a ? Have to do with kitchen, but, someway they work it into their sales pitch)

I like prepared food, not the Q prices.

I have been cooking and baking from scratch all my life. Starting on my grandmother's farm over a wooden stove and using huge cast iron pots. My grandmother took me to go out into the fields and meadows to look for herbs which she dried.
Then later in my teens I worked in an orphanage where I became the cook. Cooked for about 130 people and most of it was from scratch including the baking. I remember working through the nights to bake Christmas cookies for all those people and everyone also got a birthday cake. I loved it.
Then I came to the US in 1965 and decided to go to business school while working every night at Horn & Hardard and on Saturdays I cleaned houses. After graduating, I got a position in the medical area of a University. I worked there often 7 days/week at various levels until 2004 when I retired. During all this time I prepared my own meals, took lunch to work. And loved it all.
Now I am retired and "tired" so I order the occasional treat like the croissants from QVC. But I don't let anybody make me feel guilty about it. And yes, I even get my apartment cleaned.

For the loyal homebound QVC customer I can see it---but there are now a lot of local grocery stores that offer delivery and grocery stores also offer a variety of prepared food.(steaks, hamburgers, pot stickers etc)....our main grocery store chain offers roast beef, meat loaf, turkey loaf, a variety of chicken dishes (grilled chicken, pecan chicken, Asian stir fry etc etc etc) much cheaper than QVC....so if you don't have the time to cook isn't local a faster and less expensive option...Some Q customers cite the convenience of QVC.....but there are other retailers that offer similar products with the SAME convenience....both national and local....QVC isnt the only option anymore...
