I am in love with the fruit infused water they serve at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel and Spa, in Hollywood. I have been going there for a few years, and the last 2 years they serve this water in the lobby. Last time I was there I carefully made a detailed note . Hahaha. Just remember to scrub the fruit well before. I use organic, so there are no pesticides remaining.
They take this huge glass dispenser with a spigot and slice fruit and veggie in about 1/3 of it, then 1/3 chipped ice, then fill with filtered water. They did tell me they let it sit for an hour before serving at 10am. They fill with water as needed, then remove it at 6pm.
The main base is sliced (wedges) of green and red apples. Scrub them, but do not remove peel.
sliced oranges (thin so they could fold or bend)
kiwi's, thick sliced
a couple sliced lemons
small wedges of honeydew melon
small wedges of cantaloupe (I would skip cantaloupe in lieu of the current listeria outbreak)
a few blue berries for color
big slices of strawberries
sliced cucumbers (peeled) Sometimes they scrape outside of cucumber peel, then slice.
one peach skin removed, sliced thin
I made this for a memorial event and it was a big hit. It is so freshing!! The smell is incredible. Don't make the ice too big, or too small. The right size will melt slightly after an hour, and some ice will remain after a couple hours. When they remove the canister , it is still frosted over from the chill on the outside.
