We are having a family reunion next week end and the theme is Mardi Gras. We are having a jymbayla contest and a pineapple upside down cake contest. I have entered the jymbayla contest. I am also making 150 corn muffins. How should I freeze them. I made half today and I will do the rest tomorrow. I don't have containers large enough. I found some big shirt boxes that will be perfect. Should I put something over them in the box or wrap the whole box with foil. I just don't want them to get freezer frost on them. Thanks.

I would do both to keep them fresh after all of the work you did...also I wouldn't want the cardboard taste to get into the food

@hovis  You need to put them in zip lock bags and get out all the air you can and then put those in a box so they won't get crushed.

You can't freeze things in shirt boxes and have them not get freezer burn.  Foil won't help much either because it doesn't wrap air tight.

I make muffins all the time & freeze them in zip lock bags. They stay fresh for a long time in the freezer. Don't use cardboard or foil. Large zip lock bags hold ~ a dozen. Hopefully you have freezer room.

I'd put them in big Zip Lock bags.  Food doesn't get freezer burn in a week.  It takes weeks if not months.

If you have any left over bread sacks that would be good, also.

I keep all the Wonder bread sacks, stash in drawer and have on hand to freeze something in. Suppose to keep bread fresh, so.......

If you only need to freeze them for a mere week you can just enclose them, in the freezer, with a plastic grocery bag. Thats how I freeze my bread and I never get any sort of freezer burn (even after keeping my bread in the freezer for a long time). Have fun at the party!

When we freeze muffins, we wrap them individually.  I don't think you're going to do that 150 times!

I have no idea how to contain them.  I would remember that if their together when you freeze them, they'll probably stick together and won't separate easily until they're completely defrosted.
