Freezer Storage time for uncooked pork roast?

I have an uncooked pork roast in my upright freezer & was wondering how long I could safely keep it frozen. I googled it & was surprised when I found that "freezing keeps foods safe almost indefinitely" & that quality would suffer after 4-12 months, but not safety. What is the longest time that you have kept meats in your freezer before cooking?
