For the poster who asked me for the Kolaczki Recipe

I'm sorry can't remember your name but as I was getting ingredients  together I remembered🤦‍♀️

This recipe is from my friend who was polish and she'd made them for 70+ years.

They are light as feathers and like potato chips " you can't eat just 1" -- I ate 4 already😲😲.

Here is the recipe:

Mmmmm it wasn't me but that looks like my polish grandmothers SE Baltimore kitchen table...Gosh they were so good. She also made kruschiki (bow ties). Light as air sprinkled with powdered sugar.  Everyone who knew how to make those wonderful dishes have exited the planet 😒

If you made those, that's a lot of work...

Oh my mom made these every Christmas...I never knew the name! I love mine thick. She used to put in apricot jam, raspberry jam or prune butter.  She used to say I would eat them faster than she could get them off the baking pan.  I loved the dusted powdered sugar on top. Now I'm going to have to make these!

Yes my Busha used jams as well. I wonder if today's flea market jarred jams would work and also wonder if you could cheat on the pastry by using pie dough crusts...hmmm
