Both QVC and HSN prepare so much food during food /cooking shows. I hope they feed it to employees instead of wasting it.

This has been brought up maybe a thousand times. Food handled during presentations, sitting under hot studio lights for who knows how long...I doubt it's safe for anyone to eat after the shows are over.
There are likely even health & safety regulations in place that specify what must be done with it. I'm sure it would depend on the type of food also.

@bargainsgirl It's my understanding that most of the food, especially during the days where a food item is the tsv, sits under the hot kitchen studio lights for up to 24 hours/time. & the chefs place a small plate/amount for the hosts to taste if they wish.

OMG not this **again**. It's been discussed 100's of times.

You have over 3000 posts most likely you've seen food display covered before.

Would you eat food that's been sitting under hot lights for an hour or 2 or 4? Neither would I.
There is a cost to doing business. In the case of food, it's the cost of food.
And, if it's not safe for Q people to eat, it's not safe to donate to a shelter either.
This subject has been posted ad nauseam.

@Love my grandkids LOL, your words were my exact thoughts when I read this post. "Oh geez, not this again".

I have seen food presentation posts before, but I am not on here as frequently as some others are. I can't make a comment like "this is being discussed again."

Don't forget folks....QVC pays "wholesale" prices...NOT what you see on the screen!!!
Probably pennies on the dollar. Maybe even nothing...after all, they are providing the venue to present the product to MILLIONS of viewers...not just the handful that walk into Rastelli's shop in New Joisey...
For EVERYTHING they sell.
When they say they sold 25,000+ of them, the cost for the "wasted food" is minimal.
As for food under lights....I saw a host eat a tiny piece of raw pizza dough yesterday on Q2 when they were presenting the new KA 7 QT mixer.....the vendor tried a little bit to discourage him from tasting it, and it wasn't a HUGE bite,,, but it doesn't take much to get a mouthful of bacteria!!!
Of course they DID appear to prepare that dough from scratch on the set, but I don't think you're "supposed" to eat raw dough!!! ( I did...cookie dough...and I didn't die!!!)
You can go on Wegman's site and see bagged frozen salmon filiets....not very enticing to look at, as opposed to squeezing, forking, smushing, and eye rolling on Q!!!!
I don't think if Q hosts held up a bag of these frozen filets it would have the same appeal!!! And that's what you get. A bag of shrink wrapped filets that look no different than anything else in the back of your freezer!!!!

Google a few quick studies on how much food is wasted in this country every year. What QVC and HSN waste is an infinitesimal percentage.
