I've been told by someone in farming to be sure to check all food labels and use your own judgement about the safety considering the country it came from. I just went through some canned goods and was dismayed to see that not all of them had country of origin on the labels. However, I did find 2 mushroom items, one a can, the other a jar which are from China. They are Giorgio brand and Polar brand.
Maybe we could post any info we find to help each other. I really thought it was a law that the country of origin had to be on the label. There are phone numbers printed on the labels for the companies which didn't have the country stated. I tried calling, but since it's Saturday, no one was there and I got a message saying to call back Monday through Friday. I will definitely do that.
Would you be willing to check labels and post info here? I think it would be extremely valuable to have this information.
Thank you!
