I have admired fiesta for so long, and I actually have 4 jumbo cups (really like a compact bowls with a handle) and for those I chose white, turquoise, peacock and cobalt.
Now I am considering purchasing sets, and I actually am considering buying all turquoise. Is this crazy? I just love the turquoise. I have also considered turquoise and white, 4 place settings of each. I have also considered 3 peacock, 3 turquoise and 2 white.
Another thing to consider is that I have nice pasta bowls, mugs and tea pot in a pattern that has the same turquoise as the fiestaware. So, I was thinking the set of turquoise would go nicely with the other pattern.
I really think a turquoise and white table setting would look nice, but when I see the table settings, they usually all have the same color dinner plate, and then the salad plate or bowls all match too. In other words, I think it would look nice to have all turquoise dinner plates, all white salad plates, all turquoise bowls, all white mugs, if the table was set formally for 8 people. But how many times would I set a formal table? Not often.
I just don't know how every other plate being a different color would look that great. Especially if the table was set for 3 or 5. I think I must be a matchy-matchy person.
Any thoughts? Any words of wisdom?
