Last night I had Lemon Raspberry cake with a touch of buttercream frosting.  Tasted like summer.

when it is really hot and sticky - I want ice cold watermelon, pineapple or good old fashion Jello - fruit bars and ice cream is always good no matter the weather (even winter)

My favorite summer cake is a scratch white cake if three layers.  Between each layer is homemade butter cream icing, then a layer of sliced strawberries.  The entire cake is then frosted over.

 

I got this recipe from the side of a cake flour box.  It was nothing really.  Anyone could have put it together.
