Faroe Island Salmon question.

Can you leave in fridge for 2 days thawed from frozen ? I usually eat it within 24 hours after it has thawed , but i forgot. Hate to throw out . Still in vacum sealed package.Don't want to take any chances. Thanks in advance.

I can't imagine that an extra day would matter.  Make sure it doesn't feel slimmy of have a bad smell to it when you go to make it.  I'm sure it will be fine.

Isn't that the best salmon ever?  I always have some in my freezer.  I love it!

Hi   I've done the same thing with not being able to cook the fish on the day it was thawed and grilled it the next day and it was totally fine. As long as it's been kept in your fridg you'll have no problem with it.

We really enjoy Faroe Island Salmon and have it on auto delivery.  Enjoy!!

I have left it wrapped in the plastic and on a plate in the fridge for 2 days, no problem. I love that salmon, have ordered it at least 3 times. It's also good baked, flaked and put in a salad !

Thanks , it is still very cold and no smell. and not like it was sitting out of it's sealed package. I am always paranoid about food poisining.

Cook it and eat it tomorrow. I happen to like it cold cut up in a salad. I also make it as it was tuna salad in a sandwich.

Re: Faroe Island Salmon question.

The seafood dept at Whole Foods told me if you are not going to cook the fish the same day you buy, just put it in the "coldest" part of your fridge.  They said that is the bottom shelf generally on top of your fridge drawers way in the back.  They also said you generally have 48 hours to cook fresh fish or thawed fish. @MW in Iowa  (Just FYI)

I have done that a few times and it was just fine---I love this fish too and have it on auto delivery. I usually grill it on my Ninja outdoor grill, but lately have been poaching it in water, white wine then dumping in a good amount of the seasoning the fish comes with---yummy!!
