I was a diehard buyer of whole beans which we ground fresh for every pot. We began doing that in the 1970s when we got married. I swore I would never use keurig but received one this year. I have been downright annoyed that I have some of the best coffee ever from my keurig. The green mountain Dark Magic is one of my favorites. I am a bit embarrassed to admit that, if you buy good coffee pods, the keurig is great.

I buy the organic beans, and I grind up a bunch at a time, using those small tupperwares and lock n locks, for just the right size for my Kitchen Aid Coffee Maker, and in the morning, it's so handy to just dump in that little container and put the water in and let it brew - perfect coffee every cup!  It's a 12 cup coffee maker and we love it.  Or putting the water in the night before, and the coffee in the basket already, and all to do in the morning is  brew.  Both ways are great!                  

My daughter and son in law have the Keuric and I use theirs when over baby-sitting their twin infants, and I like ours better. (I'm their Nanny!!)   But theirs is still good.

I just used up the last of the Dark Magic I got on sale from my local Safeway. I agree. I think it starts with good coffee.
