I found a recipe at http://cooklikeyourgrandmother.com/2009/07/how-to-make-brown-sugar-buttercream-frosting/
I have made a recipe similar to where the flour and milk is cooked and cooled. The white sugar, butter, vanilla and salt are beaten, then the cooled flour/milk mixture is added. Then it is whipped up. It is so yummy.
I have not tried the brown sugar version, but he puts it on a Banana Cake recipe from the same site. I think it would be good on a chocolate cake.
Make sure the milk and flour is cooked til thick and make sure it is cold before putting it in the sugar/butter mixture.
