Ever Had A Kroger Grocery Delivery?

I have seen their trucks in my town, but have never used them.  Apparently they have a warehouse, refrigerated trucks, and someone yesterday was telling me they had used it and had no problems.

So, I thought I'd see what response I'd get from the group here!

Thanks!

I have not. However, my best friend does. She has a severe disability and often times is unable to shop on her own. Although they're not required to do this, the folks at Kroger have even brought her items inside and put them away for her. They've been incredibly helpful and accommodating.

@Sooner.  No reason not to try the d3livery services.  If something is wrong, they will instantly fix it with no questions asked.

I got a delivery from Walmart Friday.  I discovered last night that a bag of 6 cans of chunky soup was missing.  I just reported it online and, without talking to anyone,  my $13.+ was refunded.

@Kachina624 My experiences with WM pickups and deliveries have been good.

Sometimes they don't carry items or brands I want and sometimes sold out of what I want so I'm thinking of branching out!

@Sooner - My SIL uses the delivery service from our local Kroger affiliate as well as Walmart all the time and thinks both are great. Even though they send me lots of nice offers and coupons, I could never bring myself to use the Kroger delivery service unless there was some kind of problem or emergency since the nearest location is just two blocks from my house. Smiley Very Happy

As for Walmart, I got an amazing deal on a Walmart+ subscription earlier this year but pretty much only use it to take advantage of occasional free no-minimum shipping. For the past year or two, I've done pickups at Walmart about every other month, and everything typically goes perfectly; the nearest location is just 4-5 minutes away almost straight down the road, so paying for a tip to get things delivered seems a bit silly to me even with the Walmart+ free delivery option. It's no hassle at all to drive there and have my orders loaded into my trunk at no cost.

Store pick up is all that's available in this rural area of WV.  I'm not a Kroger shopper.

Maybe it's a regional thing but our Kroger-owned store has absolutely the worst meat I've ever bought at a grocery store.  At the price of beef, no way would I waste money on a roast that I couldn't chew.

I would have to have TWO BROKEN LEGS before I would allow someone else to "pick out my food"...

@Kachina624

Same here with the local Kroger (Fred Meyer's) has horrible fresh meat, terrible selection of fresh poultry, limited deli meats (bacon, ham portions, brats, etc.) and terrible customer service. Actually, none of the fresh departments are great. It's so annoying... but center store items have the lowest prices, they offer gas discounts and we can get free delivery.

I did try the free delivery once and it was hosed up. They did fix it, but it made me cautious. But if an emergency came up I would use it again.

@Desertdi - With any of the store pickups, I only let them pick prepackaged items or something like a bag of potatoes or carrots—nothing where someone will be touching my actual food. Anything fresh requires an in-person visit; I'm just too "picky" about such things...  Smiley Wink
