I have NOT read any comments wrong!  Are you saying that the food is not "air dried(fried)" in the air fryer??  I never thought this was a dehydrator...and my question has not been answered...my MAIN question was about the meat getting cold when you "cook" it and then having to wait until the "sides" get done?  and another question....how much food can you put into the "drawer"?  One of the reviews said that 2 small pork chops were too big for it to cook... just curious here and hope someone has answers

Re: Emeril Air Fryer Feedback

@gkelly I don't have this particular air fryer, so I can't answer your question about how much food you can put in it.  But I know if you want to make something for a whole family, this one would be too small.  QVC has one on line that holds 12 qt.

I personally would put only one dish in there and would cook the rest of the meal another way.  I guess that's what everyone does.

Re: Emeril Air Fryer Feedback

Most of the meat dishes are supposed to 'sit' awhile anyway before you cut into them to let the juices settle, but you could put a piece of foil over it for the few minutes while your side is cooking if you wanted.....

I wouldn't try and make more than 2 things for one meal in the Air fryer because I think they would start getting cold.

@gkelly I have to say that I agree with @MKR14 in terms of semantics as (for me) when I hear "air dried foods" I think dehydrator.  These new air fryers are different so I think it is important to separate the two technologies as one is still emerging so to speak.

I have an original air fryer and I love it but for me it rarely covers the entire meal.  I don't consider this an oven so to speak but an appliance that does a great job with a measured amount of product be it veggies, protein, etc..

For me, I love cooking proteins in mine.  It makes great chicken, fish, an occasional hamburger or pork chop.  Whatever the protein I am making, I usually plan the rest of the meal to be prepared in a different vehicle (steamed/sauteed veggies, etc.).

My air fryer is one of the smallest which is fine as it's just me.  There are many larger versions and they are growing in capacity with each new release.  I would take a look at YouTube as they have a very wide variety of videos out there which showcase what the upper-echelon models can do and also demonstrate what can be accomplished with each size as the more expensive ones pretty much can cook an entire meal depending on how many people you are looking to feed.  Really good stuff out there.

Again, I love mine but then again I wasn't looking for much.  I just wanted to make chicken and reheat certain leftovers and it does a great job.

Re: Emeril Air Fryer Feedback

Good luck finding what you need. The 3.5 air fryer by Emeril that was the TSV is perfect for my husband and I. It is super easy to use and clean. For many families a larger one will probably be the best choice. I hope you find what you need. Air fryers are so new most of my friends never heard of them. I watch a lot of QVC and HSN and they explain all the new products and have videos with the product that are very helpful. I do love the Air Fryer book by Meredith Lawrence as it tells cooking times that can be used for any air fryer as well as the beginning of the book has great suggestions and hints. Let us know-if you want to- what you find. Good luck. Sorry if I can across with the wrong answer for what you needed before. Smiley Happy

Re: Emeril Air Fryer Feedback

You might actually like the one they have on Evine today.  It's definitely big enough for a family and does much more than air fry.  Best to watch it.  It will be on air again today at 2 pm Eastern Time.

@gkelly I haven't had a chance to see Evine's TS (I am waiting for The Sizzle to come on in a half hour) but if you get a chance Google Gourmia GTA-1500 Digital Electric Air Fryer, Griller and Roaster.

This is a very versatile little appliance and I think could cook for a family.  In addition to the good reviews on Amazon, there are people on these forums that have one and just love it.  I would love one and should it ever fit into my budget I would most definitely buy one (and I'm very sorry I didn't buy one when it was only $99 . . . Smiley Sad).

I love my air fryer and am always pleased (and a little grossed out) when I see the amount of oil that is removed from what you are cooking . . . Smiley Happy

Re: Emeril Air Fryer Feedback

Ok, I just got through watching the presentation for Todd English's TS and while it is an interesting appliance I do not think it would be for me as I prefer a true air fryer.  This reminds me of something more along the lines of the T-Fal Actifryer but more versatile.

I agree @momtochloe I watched it also. I am happy with the one I have. I just made macaroni and cheese and made two small ones in the air fryer( had to do one at a time) in small Corningware dish and the large Corningware dish in my microwave that also is convection. I used the convection part. They were both excellent and the air fryer only took about 12 minutes and browned nicely with a little extra cheese and Panko crumbs on top. Both came out the same in consistency. Very pleased. I have chicken wings and drummies in ready to come out and while they rest I will do the French fries. Smiley Happy
