When making the hard boiled eggs do you take them out as soon as the buzzer sounds or let them keep cooking?  Do you submerge in cold water or let cool on counter?

I have the older version of the eggspress...no buzzer....I watch for the light to go out and then i take them out and put them in the refrigerator....later in the day when they are cooled...i peel all of them and put them back in the refrigerator ...in a lock and lock..to be used when needed...

I unplug mine as soon as the buzzer goes of. Then I take the lid of wash it and let the eggs cool down enough to put in the refrigerator.  If you don't stop it when the buzzer goes of the moisture in the pan will burn. I use mine every week .I love it.

@trfic2, I do exactly what @sweetee2 does and the eggs come out great every time . . . it was one of those "this is a dumb idea" purchases that I am so glad I did buy . . . Smiley Happy

I take them out when the buzzer goes off and put them in a bowl with some cold water and ice cubes.  I crack each one against the inside of the sink in a couple places putting each one back in the water until they are all cracked. Then I peel each one, put them on a paper towel to dry.  They peel very easy as the egg has contracted from the shell in the ice water.  I put a paper towel inside a lock&lock and refrigerate.  Perfect every time.

I bought the Krupps and wondered how often I would use it. It's become one of my most used appliances!  I always hated making boiled eggs.

I have a question, I get my eggs right from the farm and they are very large.   Will they work in this egg cooker?

@software I don't see why not.  You may not be able to make the full amount at one time but you should be able to fit at least half so they sit properly in the container.

I love my eggspress Egg Cooker.  My eggs are "local" and there have been a few that sit too large to allow the cover to fully close but not all.  In summary, there might be some eggs that are too large but will most likely work.  This is one of the best "kitchen gadgets" that I have purchased.

Thanks for your reply.

I may go for the original, not the deluxe
I think it will work for me
