Re: Eggs and removing the ""seatbelt""

I prefer to order with Amazon, but went on the other site and ordered 6 to have extras for gifts. The s/h was only $2.24. I have already told two friends about this. At first they laugh, but told me to order them one. You need to place your orders before the item sells out.......

I did as well and couldn't find it. is it sold on Amazon?

I'm sorry, you guys. Smiley Sad I just looked and it's no longer there. Glad there are other options, as advised by other posters here. I had no idea it would be gone from Amazon. I ordered my first one there and went back in a month later and ordered a couple more. But that was a few months ago, I believe.

I asked DH (a veterinarian) about this. He said it doesn't matter. It's just part of the egg and it's protein. Personally, I usually remove it with a regular teaspoon if I'm making an omelette, sunny side up, or something else. But if I forget, or if I'm breaking an egg to add to something I'm baking, I don't worry about it. Smile

I don't think anybody is saying you HAVE to remove it. Some of us would just RATHER remove it. Smiley Happy

I don't like it - eggs are gross enough to me, but that part always skeeved me out even more. When you make a batter you can still see it in there. So I'm just happy to have a better way to get it out of there, before mixing the eggs into something or however people cook them.

Personally, I don't cook eggs to eat. I only use them in recipes for baking or waffles or such. I also make 'birdie omelets' for the bird, hiding stuff in there he needs to eat but won't. Plus, it gives him some good protein and calcium he needs. Even for that purpose I like to remove that thing to make it less gross to have to deal with eggs. ha! I know, I'm a nut but I always thought eggs were gross enough.
