I have some sliced deli pepperoni that I found had been pushed to the back of the fridge. It is over a month old. It still looks fine, smells fine, but I'm not sure if it is safe to eat. Anyone know?

Is it slimy? If not, it is probably good. There's lots of salt in it which is a preservative and some kinds are dried.
If you don't trust it - dump it.

It's cured, so it will take months for it to go bad.
Did You Know: Hormel (my former employer) makes 90% of the pepperoni that goes on pizzas!

It can get moldy over a long period of time but should not actually go bad.

The sliced kind does have an expiration date...the stick kind lasts a long time.
We always get a stick because of that.

When in doubt, I toss things, I have enough stomach problems as it is. I put dates on certain things in the fridge just so I can track of them.

How much did it cost? Is it worth the risk? Is $5 worth a weekend of upset stomach & vomiting?

OP, contact the deli where you bought it. They may be able to give you an expiration.
