Re: Does anyone here make a whole week of lunches at once?

No. As soon as I prepare something in advance, I want something else. I do often prepare vegetables all at once, cutting them all up and putting them in portioned containers to use in recipes over the next few days. I also cook and freeze large batches of brown rice. Then I don't get home from work after 6:00 and get discouraged from cooking because I don't want to chop vegetables or wait for rice to cook.

Re: Does anyone here make a whole week of lunches at once?

When I was single, I would make meals on Sundays and Wednesdays for lunch and dinner.  That worked really well.

Now that I'm cooking for 2-4 people, it's rare that I have leftovers.

I like the idea but I don't have that many containers...and I am way too lazy to bother. It takes about 5 minutes to pack my boring (to others), simple lunches.

I take lunch everyday to work and always pack ahead.  If making a sandwich I make 2 at a time.  I cook more on the weekends and usually have leftovers, but always have some Lean Cuisines in the freezer.

Re: Does anyone here make a whole week of lunches at once?

Sunday:

2 cups brown rice

1 cup lentils

7 cups water

1 tsp oil

Into electric pressure cooker for 13 minutes

Let pressure cooker steam out

 Stir in:

1 lb frozen broccoli

1/2 lb already precooked leftover hambuger meat with cooked onions

1/2 lb shredded cheese

Take it out of pressure cooker, and into a large pyrex dish

Dish out as a meal when hungry

I microwave potatos ahead of time, and use them as a biscuit!

Works for me !!!!

Re: Does anyone here make a whole week of lunches at once?

No because I'm very wishy-washy about what I even want to eat that day.  I go home everyday for lunch and often don't even know what I'm going to have until I walk in the door.

I plan what I'm going to cook for dinner for the entire week but even that sometimes doesn't work out because I just don't want it that day.
