I bought the Kitchenaid 3 cup Chef's Chopper food chopper from QVC years ago when it first came to QVC. Model kfc 3100. It's no longer on the market and mine still works like a charm but just wondering if anyone who owns it is still using it or has upgraded to a larger one. I've been thinking about buying a new one, but there are so many on the market now, it's hard to decide.
I'm of the mind "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" but this little workhorse is probably over 15 years old and I wonder how much longer it will last.
I'd appreciate any recommendations.
Thanks!

I own that one and use a lot. I always use until it breaks. They don't make anything like they used to. Sometimes an item will break in the first week. Quality is awful nowadays.
I would use until it breaks. (Just my 2 cents).

Hi Sunshine Kate - Thanks for your "2 cents" !! I really appreciate it.
I've seen some reviews on similar products that make me question the quality and workmanship. I agree! They don't make things like they used to.
Thanks again!!

I love it for small jobs. In fact I am on my second one. Can't remember how long ago I bought the first one but after using it I saw one on sale and picked it up so I would have a back up. When the first one died I had another. This one has been going strong for several years.

I had one and stupidly gave it away when I moved years ago. Replaced it eventually with a KA 3.5 cup model that came with a second cup and did not last long on QVC because most people did not seem to like the lack of a standard handle which for this model was more of a molded ridge along the side of the base. I love it though and it is still plugging along. Will probably keep this one until it dies.

Hi Kitty60 - I also saw one on sale a few years ago, but because this one was working so well, didn't think I needed it. Should have gotten it as a backup.
Thanks for your response!

Hi Waking Dream -
I was thinking about upgrading to the 3.5 cup but read some reviews which made me think twice. The second bowl has to be a plus. Glad it's working well for you. I think I'll just keep my original chopper until it dies!
Thanks for your response!

The reviews I read on the 3.5 cup one do not remotely match my experience with it. Then again, had I kept my 3 cup one I would not have purchased the other one. The second bowl is nice. I did call the person I gave it to and it is still going strong.
