The wheatberries, before grinding, last virtually forever if stored in an airtight container in a reasonably climate controlled place. After grinding, however, the flour needs to be used immediately. You can store some excess flour in the fridge, but not for more than a day or two.

There is a Mennonite store near me that has a powered grain mill. You can use it for free. They offer Spring wheatberries as well as hard Winter wheatberries.
Is that a manual grinder or powered? I don't know if I would venture into a hand cranked grain mill?
I've seen them at Lehman's but they are in the $500+ price range and more for commercial use.
