  • I've used them and like them. No cleanup really needed.

I do- I use them for cookies and I line bread pans for sweet holiday breads with them.

I like them very much.

I bought mine at COSTCO. They may still be available online.

Re: Does anyone bake with Silicon Mats, or Pans?

I use Silpat mats whenever I bake cookies, especially my macaroons (which are really meringues with coconut). Nothing sticks to them and they really are easy to clean up. I usually just wipe them with a damp paper towel to remove colored sugar that might have gotten onto the mat and give them a quick wash in hot soapy water after I've finished a batch. That's all I generally use them for, but I wouldn't hesitate to use them for something else that required a non-stick surface. I had 1 set for at least 10 years before I decided to replace it.

I also use Cooks Essentials silicone molds that I got a long time ago for making fudge at Christmastime. They came in teddy bear and wreath shapes. They hold the hot fudge mixture well and unmold very easily.

I don't use the Cooks Essentials cookie sheets and brownie molds very much. I found that they pop up in the oven while baking. I got them a long time ago, so maybe they've improved them since then. I've repurposed the brownie molds to hold my Cottage Farms sunpatiens when I first receive them if I'm not able to plant them for a few days. Each mold is the perfect size to hold a seedling with a little water.

I love mine - got a square pan and a muffin pan at Aldi's - almost free!

I love my Silpats..great for pouring brittle and pralineswhen candy making, too..

Just don't do what I did with my very first one, and make the mistake of cutting bars on mine, and sliced right through it! Duh!

I've wanted to try them, but I do use parchment paper, which is wonderful for cookies.

Love the Silpats!    I use either those or parchment, depending upon what I'm baking.

I just have two Silpats - one the size of the 18x13" baking pans and one for the smaller ones I have (9x13" maybe).  I've had them for years and they are just like new.

If I did heavy-duty volume baking I would purchase more of them but one of each size has served me all this time.

Re: Does anyone bake with Silicon Mats, or Pans?

I have never used the silicone pans or the mats. I don't see any need.

I don't have a sticking or burning problem with metal (I use USA Pans brand) or ceramic. And my cookies never stick with my vintage cookie sheets, either.

If I have some odd need to makes something different than usual, and I think sticking might be a problem, I use some parchament paper, but I've had the same roll for over a decade now, so I don't use that much either.

I don't like the feel of the silicone cooking/baking items, and I am not convinced they are safe.
