I always do. Years ago I left it in the cupboard and it goes rancid. I think it ferments! LOL! You can use this sauce in many dishes. It is also an ingredient in traditional chinese salad dressing. Add to other sauces as well for a great marinate.
One good use is for Chinese Chicken Salad chicken. Marinate the breasts in Hoisin for 20 mins or so. Place breasts on a bed of scallions, and a few sclices lemon, slather top of breast again with Hoisin.. Bake breasts at 350 for 25 mins or until just about done. Let sit for 30 mins. Slice for chicken salad...or just eat. No worries. LOL!
