I do try and not waste food, especially any meats. So sometimes I will have a "weird" breakfast of turkey and stuffing. That way I get rid of the leftovers before they start going south.
I really don't like to waste anything. We had a bigger turkey than we wanted this year because when we went to buy turkey all the small ones were gone. And then we have a huge family meal the Saturday after Thanksgiving. And we all make food for that. This year's theme was summer. Then my husband goes away for 12 days. So there is an awful lot of leftovers packed in the refrigerator. I am officially tired of turkey, stuffing and the spinach artichoke dish. But I didn't waste any.
I feel like it is throwing money away.

not any more!!! I used to be big on the BOGOs offered at our Publix but WalMart used to do the match. I could really save big $$$ by going to WM. I used to cook at least 3-4/times a week for friends who were ill or recuperating. Then, 1/2 the I had dinner guests a couple times a week. I thoroughly enjoyed cooking for more than 2.
Sadly, those days are over. Our friends have passed away & now it's just the 2 of us. We also eat less but have a nice lunch.
I did a full pantry (and baking pantry) purge a couple weeks ago & not much waste -- a few things I thought I'd like but never used. They went to our community food bank.
i guess the older we are our eating habits change. My spouse doesn't eat "leftovers" never has so now I've learned good portion sizes. We also eat a little healthier this way - lots of salads!

I avoid it at all costs although I can't say I never have wasted food. I, too, eat a lot of salads and will chop the lettuce and carrots up over the weekend and then keep that in those Debbie Meyer Green Bags. Those things really do help to keep things fresher longer!

No; I try very hard not to waste food. However, the last few heads of lettuce I bought deteriorated very quickly, and had to be tossed.

We don't waste much around here. We always cook & eat the leftovers. We waste things we buy that we end up not liking. We won't eat it if we don't like it.
We make our own bread so none of it goes to waste. It's yummy.
I would not hesitate to throw out food that is out of date. I have had food poisoning so no way would I eat it.
