I don't have one specific one I stick to. I say "the store", "grocery store", "market" or just the name of the specific store because I shop at 5 different ones.

Grocery store. I was watching Albany yesterday and she made a comment that, to me, sounded like she left off a word. When presenting a clothing item and stressing how handy a hood could be in a storm, she said "I'll leave my groceries in the grocery before I'll ruin a good blowout." To me, that seems like you're saying you'll leave your food in the food.

I would say store, grocery store or the actual name of the store(s). Every once in a blue moon I will catch myself saying supermarket.

I say, the store, the grocery store, or the name of the store.

I say Wegmans.
Or when I go to our local Lexington Food Co-op, I say The co-op.

I use both phrases, or just the name of the store. It depends who I'm talking to.

I say Grocery, unless it's relevant to someone which particular one, then I say the name, i.e. Kroger.

I should add that in New Orleans they use the phrase ""Making Groceries"". Always has sounded weird to me. You're not making them - you're buying them.
