I'm in MA and I can remember the term from my childhood. Back then there were a lot of communal church and civic get-togethers and "hot dish" meant some type of casserole. A main course type of food. A "pot dish" was a hot main course too, something like chili, a chowder, a stew. Something in a pot.

No idea what that is? Is it like pulled pork?

I've never heard of slush burger either. I can't even imagine what that would be!

Slushburgers are the same as sloppy joes. I never heard sloppy joe growing up and after leaving ND, no one else had heard of slushburger.
