Obsession means fixation or passion- Why are people talking about what they don't like or can't eat???

I thought the same thing, but since the OP used it to mean a food one has/had an aversion to, I went that way. There are lots of foods that I crave but she didn't mean this thread to go that way, IMO.

Love: popcorn. Maybe it's the memories of watch Walt Disney & eating popcorn on a Sunday night, but popcorn is my go-to snack...even when I'm feeling oogy, it calms my tummy. Weird?

I'm obsessed with food in general. I love shopping for it, cooking it, serving it. I love kitchens and all things associated with food. Luckily, I don't eat most of what I make and bake, but I'm still overweight. I don't know if we are born with these obsessions or if they are taught to us, but I am definitely food obsessed. My husband can go all day without eating. He literally forgets to eat. That will never, ever happen to me.

I go in spurts, as someone else mentioned. For a long time, I had to have a pink grapefruit every day. After that, it was Pink Lady apples. Now it's Greek Yogurt.

I am obsessed with cheese- LOVE it! My favorites are triple cream brie and blue and sharp cheddar from the cheese shop! YUM!
Love chips & ice cream, too!
I was thinking the same thing! It's what you love, crave and must have. For me it's milk. I love milk. I like cheese but only in small bites of really good cheese. I HATE those big globs of cheap cheese in everything now.
Oh, and steak and top quality ground beef in burgers and such.

I cannot eat most fast foods. When I was a teenager I ate a McDonalds cheeseburger the day before I got the stomach flu. OMG, I was so sick, had a fever of 104 and I literally threw up every 30 minutes for almost 36 hours. I have never felt so ill in my entire life. I was so thirsty from throwing up so much. I thought it was food poisoning but my doctor told me it was the stomach flu and I had it just prior to eating that cheeseburger and didn't realize it.
It has put me off to fast food for 27 yrs. I really cannot eat a hamburger/cheeseburger at any fast food restaurant. Just the smell of fast food burgers makes me feel sick to my stomach. I really don't like okra either.
Foods that I love and have almost every day would be a fruit smoothie in the morning. I HAVE to have one. I put frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries, frozen blackberries, a frozen banana, plain greek yogurt, a couple of TBS of fresh ginger, kale or spinach and an apple. Whip that up in my Vitamix. I change up what type of berries or fruit and I add flax seed and Boku powder. If I don't have one of these in the morning, I don't feel myself. It is like my coffee.
I also have sauteed spinach almost every single night with dinner. I use this big wok type of pot and melt a couple of teaspoons of butter in it with some chopped garlic and throw a bunch of spinach in it with some fleur de sel and put the lid on. Let it wilt down and a couple of turns of the pepper mill and MMM, MMM, Good. I never get sick of it and probably have to have it at least 5 nights a week.
Kind of boring I guess but it makes me happy.
Oh, edited to add I love cheese also. Any kind really. Brie, fontina, roquefort, camembert, chevre, cheddar, swiss, provolone, mozzarella, feta, halloumi (love it grilled), etc... I love all cheese. I don't think I have found one that I didn't like.
