I'm in the Northeast and usually make dinner, sometimes cook. Don't really fix. I'd be happy if someone else would do the job sometimes.

Usually make or fix. Prepare sounds too "haughty" or TV chef-ish. Sometimes I'll say I'm going to cook dinner, but most of the time I either make or fix.

I make dinner. Or I get dinner.

But I live alone so I don't usually talk about it.

I'm fixin' to go to dinner right now. Supper is the evening meal always, but some city folks think dinner is the night meal. In the country it is breakfast, dinner and supper. There is no lunch in the country. BUT we do have lunch meat. . . One of life's great mysteries!
