My SO has been grocery shopping lately and picked up some organic items in error.  Organic chicken broth would never make Southern chicken & dumplings!  The organic vinegar has a bitter taste to me.  Not going in my salad dressings.

What products do you buy organic?  Am I missing something?

IMO organic is overrated.   I generally go by how produce looks.

The only thing organic I purchase is eggs. I buy fresh produce and that is good enough for me. I feel like the stuff labeled organic is just overpriced and not necessary.

Sure I buy organic stuff. I don't buy chicken stock ever anyway, I make my own.

I don't bother. seems like everything now gets an organic label slapped on to their product. I've lived all this time without buying organic foods, and I'm healthy and well! 😊

The difference in Organic is the way it is produced in a more earth sustaining, environmentally responsible way. It is usually more labor intensive for the producer but they believe in preserving the earth for future generations. Organic doesnt necessarily taste any different than other produce or food. I buy organic because I like the philosophy  and responsibility behind it and I want to support organic farmers. I also dont like the chemicals used  by non organic farmers or the inhumane way factory farms raise cattle, chickens, etc.

No I don't.  I do check out the organic products but I am not tempted.

I  buy fruits and vegetables locally in season.  I  don't buy anything in a can.  I check labels for things I cannot pronounce.  I do what I can do.  But I don't worry about organic foods being the only thing in my kitchen.

I prefer locally grown or produced in the USA to organic made in another country. But truth be told, my budget and living within my means dictates what I buy, and that usually means whatever is on sale.

Usually don't buy organic. But in the last couple of years I have switched to fresh organic baby carrots. The non-org ones taste like chlorine because that's what they are soaked in and you can't rinse it away.Smiley Tongue These non-org baby carrots taste like crup. My dog won't even eat 'emSmiley Tongue.

I also try to buy organic dairy and chicken because of hormones.

I happily buy organic when the price differential isn't equivalent to the national debt.

I think the food quality is about the same, but I prefer to eat foods that are not grown with pesticides whenever possible.

I usually buy organic/free range eggs.

@Zhills What characteristics about organic chicken broth do you find less desirable than  non-organic varieties? I've been using a delicious broth that's lower in sodium, and my dressing and bone broth chicken soup are about the same as those that I've made with other brands.

I can't think of the brand name of mine, but it comes in a carton like many of the popular commercial brands.
