Do You Water Down Your Juices Sometimes?

I've found that I like to add water and ice to my orange juice, pom juice and some of the other stronger flavored ones.  I like the more diluted taste, I reduce the calorie count, and I get more liquid.

Commercial juices are so strong and sweet sometimes that for me this greatly improves them.

Anyone else like doing this?

Yes!  Orange juice, always.    I like it better watered down.

It's never even crossed my mind.   Mostly I make popsicles out of juice.

Yes, I always dilute orange juice.  Helps to keep the sugar count down and I think it still tastes good.  I take potassium medication and my count was still a tad low.  The dr. said that rather than increase my dosage, to try to supplement more potassium in my diet.  Orange juice helps with that.  My problem is that bananas are good also, but I don't care for bananas that much.

No, have never done this.  I don't drink juice often, but drink it as it is.

Re: Do You Water Down Your Juices Sometimes?

I NEVER drink juice. I will only eat the whole fruit or vegetable..  On a rare occation such as fasting  or having to cleanse for a colonoscopy or something, I will pull my juicer out and drink fresh vegetable juice( no fruit juice) for a few days.  But,, fruit juice just has too much of a  sugar hit ( even if natural) for the body to take in at one time. Eating the whole fruit provides fiber and such to slow down the digestion and impact of the sugar on your blood glucose levels.

I think anyone who decides to drink fruit juices should water them down by at least half water half juice. I agree with you on this.

My Son and Daughter-in-law do it when they give juice to my 4 year old Granddaughter

Re: Do You Water Down Your Juices Sometimes?

Being diabetic, I can't use alot of juice in my diet because of the sugar content, but I love Orange Juice.  So I water it down a good bit - still get the taste and the thirst quench, but get less juice and enjoy the flavor.
