Yes.  A tablespoon a day is what I learned from my mother who passed about 2 years ago now.  She learned it and was a patient of the Mayo Clinic.

Lived and had lovely skin as well until 96.

We use a lot of butter.  I buy salted and unsalted butter  either at Sam's Club or Costco in the four lbs multi pack.

There is no margarine in my home.   Today, I  made a pound cake with butter and corn bread with butter as well.  The corn bread will be served with butter.

Last night we had crab legs with melted butter and butter on baked potatoes.  Butter is actually a healthy food item eaten in moderation. It is all natural.

My husband and I both have healthy cholesterol levels and no health issues.

Butter is the only thing I buy. I hate the taste of margarine and can identify it as soon as I taste it.  Nothing like real butter, and I think it's better for a person than margarine. I buy both stick butter for baking and soft spreadable butter for our every day eating. When my husband and I got married (2nd marriage for each), he had never had much butter. His mom and his first wife just never bought it - thought it was too expensive. He was in butter heaven when he started eating the real stuff! I'm 75 and have always had real butter....life is too short to not enjoy the good stuff! Both my weight and cholesterol are just fine.

From News Medical

Impact of Butter and Margarine Consumption

Since margarine has a variable but high trans fat level, the consumption of margarine may lead to an increased incidence of heart disease, cancer, and other diseases when compared with butter. Hence, butter is considered healthier than margarines.

Years ago, it was said margarine had an atom of hydrogen added to it.  I quit margarine at that time.

If I use butter, it's on a handful of vegetables since I roast so much with olive oil.

Kerrygold household here.  I purchase both the salted and unsalted at Costco.  There is always a back up of two of each packages in my freezer. I keep it in a butter boat on the counter all year long.  Purchased from the Q.

Here's the item number.

We eat real butter every day.  Life is short.

@CDN2 - I've tried several different butter keepers over the years but finally ended up using a cute 10-oz ramekin with a lid instead since it makes much less of a mess. I just smoosh in one stick of butter at a time (though it easily holds two) and it has always stayed fresh and nice, even in summers like this one where we've been around 100 for a few days and will be for at least another week. It's just extra softened.  Smiley Very Happy

I only use butter but since I'm not a baker, it lasts me a long time. I use it for baked potatoes, toast, etc.

🕵  They ( whoever "they" are ) claim that real butter is far healthier for you than margarine/oleo.

But, like everything else, that "fact" could change in a heartbeat.

I only use butter for corn on the cob in the summer and dinner rolls at Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Otherwise I use Parkay margarine.
