We have several crockpots, various sizes. My first was one I got as a Christmas gift from where I worked back in the early 1970s. It is a Hamilton Beach and we still use it a lot. When I worked, I loved starting it in the morning and coming home to the great smell and dinner all ready. Now I'll start it, go ride the tractor all day and come in to dinner being ready.We use our smaller ones for making dips.

The word "still" doesn't apply to me about using a slow cooker. When I was 1st married decades ago, we received several slow cookers as wedding gifts. I only remember using one once. Later, I gave them all away.
However, I bought a new slow cooker about a year ago & I love it. I buy the slow cooker insert bags, and there is zero clean-up. My brother had shared a recipe with me that I thought would be more flavorful & more tender if made in a slow cooker, & that's when I bought one.
Slow Cookers have been updated. I have my eye on the Green Pan Elite 8 that does several functions. I don't eat beef or pork, but occasionally eat chicken. My past experience in electric grilling was that it left the food dry. I've never owned or used a pressure cooker. I have a multi-function convection oven, but I've never used it.

@scatcat wrote:Yes - I love them. I have 5 including a 9x13 one and a mini one for queso dip etc.
I used them a lot when the kids lived here, but I still use them often. I also love my Nesco roaster.
@scatcat Welcome!🥰 FIVE is impressive!😁 I imagine having that many of various sizes, allows you the convenience of cooking just about anything! I just remembered I have a Nesco purchased here at The Q many sunsets ago, but my daughter proudly uses it now!😊 I had to replace the cookwell once.😁
THANK you SO much for caring to share today!🤗

I love my crock pot! I tenderize roasts in them and make an extra turkey breast at Thanksgiving.
I know a pressure cooker would do the same, but I'm not rushed for time.

We don't use a slow cooker often, but we have a small cheap one we use sometimes mostly for chicken breasts cooked in tomatoes or tomato sauce.
We use our rice cooker most, then the instant pots. We have a sous vide but don't use it much. We use a Fissler stovetop pressure cooker a lot also--it's great! And just a Le Creuset pot on the stovetop.

@SandySparkles I use mine a lot. Love to make a pot roast with carrots, potatoes, celery and onions especially when it's so hot outside and I don't have to heat the house with the oven. I use for soups, stews, chili. Nothing better than a one pot meal.

@Goodie2shoes wrote:I still have my crockpot purchased over 10 yrs ago, it's just taking up space in my pantry, I last used it around Christmas time last year. I also have a Air Fryer, only used it once since I bought it in 2019. My daughter loves to cook and I just bought her the Cuisinart Preferred Pan 4 pc set for mother's day (it's what she wanted) and she loves it. She says she can cook almost everything in that one pan set.
@Goodie2shoes Welcome!🥰 Sounds like yours is a dust collector!😁 I am not familiar with the Cuisinart so I Googled it! I find that QUITE interesting, and can understand why your daughter LOVES❤ it!😊 I have never seen anything like it!

@PinkyPetunia wrote:I do use a crockpot but more in cold weather when I want a hearty meal. Great for making pulled chicken or pork, beef stew, corned beef.
@PinkyPetunia Welcome!🥰 I have never nade pulled chicken, but imagine it cooks perfectly in your slow cooker!😊 Using them in cold weather seems to be a favorite method thus far!😁

@ECBG Welcome!🥰 You are a GREAT cook so I can see why you LOVE❤ yours! You have posted amazing recipes for different foods through the years! Hmmmm.🤔 I would not have thought of cooking a turkey breast in one, but that is an EXCELLENT idea!😁

I use a "hotpot" to keep my coffee warm. (I also have a full pot of coffee on the stove burner....can't RUN OUT of coffee.)
