Do You Rinse Chicken Before Cooking It???

I just found out I'm behind the times!

I've always rinsed my chicken (scrubbed is more like it. lol) before cooking it, but I just read that it is not only unnecessary, but, it is inadvisable! I guess I can eliminate that step.
