I can't believe the name came to me!!!! It was Dansk stainless, Anvil the pattern. It was contemporary looking and quite strong and well -balanced in the hand. DH and I still use it occasionally, especially nice for spreading peanut butter.

Oneida Paul Revere here too...still looks good since 1974...use it everyday. I did have to replace a few knives and was happy it is still available for purchase. I've always liked it. I even had a matching set of early childhood Paul Revere that my kids used....first cereal spoon, later spoon and fork for them starting out....sweet memories.

I had to think way back on this one. Married 63 years last week. I remember a set with an enamelled wheat stalk on it. Must have been a gift. My sterling flatware sat in a pretty wooden box for years, saving it for best. Maybe ten years ago I realized how dumb that is. We use it every day now. It is Heirloom sterling, Damask Rose pattern.

@Sooner This was quite formal for a 26 year old (at the time I chose the pattern) but I always loved it. I still have it but no longer use it.
Thank you.

@Regal Bee We keep a heavy glass on the counter with 2 forks and spoons out (dinner, salad, teaspoon and soup spoon) to grab. It's some sterling and some stainless.
That way we enjoy them without fussing or opening a drawer etc. We just grab and go and have so enjoyed the different pieces! So nice different pieces for plate of fruit, soups, cereals, ice cream etc!

I live within a few miles of the original Oneida Community. The history of the company is facinating. It was one of only a few successful communes. Much has been documented about its history and something to look into if interested. The company went out of business, but some motivated entrepreneurs started a new manufacturing operation in the same location. It's called Liberty, and yes, it's made in the USA. Our 1970 wedding gift was Michaelangelo by Oneida Community. It is very ornate and not in our 2025 style. It's weighty and have place settings for 18 plus a godzillkon serving pieces. We use it everyday and have no sane reason to replace it. For our our second home, we purchased Liberty's Susanna, a much simpler pattern. I enjoyed reading this thread, Thanks, Sooner.

I really don't remember. I got married in 1986. But I do remember that every year for Christmas and Birthdays my mother would buy me a place setting of Alexandra by Lunt Sterling Silverware. Once she had 12 place settings she started on all the extra pieces (serving spoons, etc). It is stored in a wooden box. I only used it a couple times but still have it.

@Sooner Like you I still use my Corelle Corning dishes.
My flatware is by Oneids too. I earned it from the Betty Crocker coupons I had saved and still use it today.
Hopefully, it will be the only and last set of dishes and flatware I will ever need or own. Lots of memories with my late husband and I having our meals.
