Ham for Christmas, the fully-cooked spiral type. It works best with the kind of sides the family likes (homemade yeast rolls, jello/cranberry/fruit salad, corn casserole, fresh steamed green beans, red potatoes), provides leftovers and great bones for a wonderful bean soup. Another huge favorite is making small ham sandwiches late evening and next day with leftover rolls. It has become a tradition even when we had turkey for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Make lots of rolls for leftovers. Turkey has run its course over the years and became tiresome....
I will get a turkey breast and cook for regular meals and sandwiches. Love a great turkey sandwich.....

Our compromise is turkey ham: Turkey that looks and tastes like ham!
I love ham, but for religious and dietary reasons, DH won't eat it.
I love Boar's Head deli turkey, but I like home baked turkey too.

I do like a roast Turkey dinner. Spiral ham is easy and tasty but I admit the last Spiral ham I made I did it for the bone to make Pea soup.

@Citrine1Love to start out with Pepperidge Farm Herb stuffing. Did it out of cornbread and they said it was too "mushy"! What do you use?

I've never been a huge fan of ham, though I do like the honey baked hams for some holidays. And I like ham on a croissant as a breakfast sandwich, or in an omelette, or on hawaiian pizza, and as candiant bacon on eggs benedict.
But there's nothing better than a grilled trukey and swiss on rye. Yum! The trick is to get good deli turkey - Boar's Head or Dietz & Watson.

I just love it hot on a plate! Forget a sandwich! The bread dulls the flavor!!!

I love them both actually, and could eat either, depending on my mood.
However, my husband isn't so big on eating ham but he does like turkey, so I will buy a turkey breast for holidays and will make that.
With Thanksgiving coming up, I'll probably do that again, and roast a small turkey breast for us.
I like eating turkey all year 'round.
