We have no issue with leftovers here.
I can make a pot roast with vegetables and I can have it for several days. DH can't tolerate some meats like I can. so he may grill a protein he can digest easier..
Tonight I did salmon patties with dill sauce which gives me leftovers.
I don't cook for leftovers, but sometimes they happen.

@ECBG funny thing. I have a dear friend that has a husband that doesnt like leftovers. So when she has them she calls me the night before to tell me that she has packed my lunch. I stop by the next day and pick it up! He is grateful the food is gone, she is happy and i am well fed!

YES! YES! YES! I hate that subject!
My husband will only eat leftovers if he REALLY likes what I cooked.
But there is a catch. If he REALLY liked what I made he might have 4 helpings. So there aren't leftovers.
But I try something and he doesn't get excited about it, he complains about having to eat leftovers. And he won't eat it. And he wants me to only cook enough so we don't have any leftovers.
Well, I don't always know whether he will eat one serving or four.

We always cook for several days at a time. We most often repurpose the food, so it is something different, but salads get added to, chicken breasts will be eaten with veggies one day, made into soup, then maybe served as bbq sandwiches.
Today we had leftover chicken, steamed potatoe, and a boiled egg (which we often have in the fridge) and it became potato salad with chicken and an egg for my husband. We steam a big batch of broccoli every week and sometimes will steam a potato with it.
I made a pot of lentils with a lot of peppers, carrots, onion, celery and herbs, and I had that with organic red rice left from yesterday.
We are both good cooks, and we don't like waste, so we have a general plan for what is cooked--and it is seldom for only one meal.

@ECBG Myself, my late DH and just about everyone I know grew up on them and have no problem with them.
I once knew a woman whose husband flat out refused to eat them. She would eat them and have to fix something else for him every dang day. I told her, tell him to fix his own meals or eat out! They moved and I don't know what happened but I just shook my head.

We both like leftovers and for me a bonus is that I don't have to think about what to make for dinner the next night!

If I have leftovers I flatten them in ziplock bags as they don't take up much room in the freezer and most of the time I use them. Some stay little pancakes until it's time to recyle what's in the freezer and they get tossed.
Some of my meals are time intensive and I don't like to waste that food & effort but we don't have much of an appetite for the same meal within a few days, wish we did!
BTW your salmon patties sound delicious, did you make the dill sauce?

This is a sore subject in our home. DH hates leftovers! So do my children. DH grew up on a dairy farm. I'm sure they had leftovers. My children ate them growing up, but they didn't like them. IDK what it is! But now that it's just the two of us he doesn't have much of a choice.
DH's one sister always has the family dinners. We'll have a big dinner, then the next night she will say we're having a few leftovers, but then she will just add "a few more "things"! (We only go once or twice a year because it's a 7 or 8-hour drive for us.)
Anyway, I LOVE leftovers! Maybe it was the lectures I heard about those less fortunate my dad gave us while we were eating. But I think some things I make actually taste better the next day. ![]()

@ECBG No we don't have a problem with leftovers. Some meals are even better the second time around. Like pasta. A slice of leftover pizza for lunch or breakfast is good too.

I cook certain things with intentions to have leftovers. DH is easy to please - no issues with eating them. When we have our leftovers, it's usually not the very next day. I'll wait a day in between. Most of my casserole type recipes make four servings so I cook once, we eat twice. If I'm making grilled chicken breasts, I always make extra for another day.
