Re: Do You Grind Your Coffee?

I ended up deciding to reconfigure our counter situation.  I still have ground coffee to use up but will start transitioning to buying beans within the next month.  I found a Cuisinart grinder on Amazon the other day with a generous coupon to click and apply.  I decided to buy it so I'll be ready.

Re: Do You Grind Your Coffee?

We have gone through about four coffee grinders after literally wearing them out. He is currently in his French Press phase....just finished his pour-over phase...but always grinds it himself. Starbucks Sumatra decaf, or Peet's Major Dickason decaf.

Re: Do You Grind Your Coffee?

i do have a grinder, but i dont use it often anymore.

i generally buy whole beans and then grind them in the store.

if i am not going to use them immediately i put the bag in the freezer.

when i take it out it goes into a tightly sealed gevalia ceramic coffee container.

right now i am really enjoying my french press!

Re: Do You Grind Your Coffee?

You're not going to believe this. I bought the Cuisinart grinder the end of April.  It arrived May 1st.  I did not open it immediately since I was still using up ground coffee.  A couple of weeks ago I decided to start transitioning back to beans.  I unboxed the grinder, filled it, pressed the button, and nothing. I tried multiple times and it wouldn't work.  Even though it was beyond the 30 day return window, I contacted Amazon CS and told them what happened.  The agent was very nice and gave me the support number for Cuisinart. Their agent was horrible; unsympathetic, unkind, rude, you name it.  He gave me an email address and told me I'd have to cut the cord in my grinder and send them a picture of it.  I did as he instructed. I received a receipt reply email but that was the only communication from them.  After a few days passed, Amazon checked back with me to see if my grinder had been replaced - it had not.  At that point, the agent assured me they were going to take care of me,   He asked if I wanted a replacement or refund. I chose the refund.  It was processed promptly.  I then got back on Amazon and shopped for a new one which arrived in a day or two.  The very next day, I get a box from Cuisinart, a replacement grinder.  Now what do I do?  I got in touch with Amazon CS again to tell them what happened and asked if I could send it to them since they already refunded my money and it wouldn't be right for me to keep it.  The CS said I could use it, gift it, or donate it, but they didn't need it back.

The new purchase is smaller and super quiet. The grinding cup is removable for washing, so it could be used to grind other things besides coffee, like herbs and seeds.  If you're looking for a grinder, I recommend the Shardor.
