I am new to almond milk and coconut milk. I am wondering if the expiration date is like regular milk and starts to go bad by the expiration date, or is it ok to keep it a little longer? I can't tell by tasting. It seems to taste ok, but not sure.

The shelf stable boxes will be good for a couple months past date easy.....I imagine unopened refrigerator almond milk will easily be fine a couple weeks past date. You will know when it is going bad...it gets real chunky and gross looking.

I find they keep much longer than dairy milk.

Mine have never lasted until the expiration date! (I drink it before then)

My daughter drinks almond milk and it lasts past the expiration date.

Most expiration dates are sell-by dates and the product lasts much longer. However, lots of deterioration takes place once we open things, so just be sensible with open containers of anything. Look for texture differences, smell for odors, etc.

Nothing goes bad on that date. It's a best use by date.

considering almond milk, and honestly wondered last night, can one freeze it for a few weeks and will it be okay. shop seldom and have kept milk in freezer before. would this work?? I know it's more expensive, so don't want to waste.

NO, you can't freeze it. I had an extra container of almond milk in my garage refrigerator, in the winter the fridge gets so cold, the almond milk froze, when it thawed, it was all clumpy and separated and tasted terrible, had to throw it out. It's not like regular milk that you can freeze.

No, you can not freeze it, as it just separates and gets weird.
