Huh!  Interesting question. Never really thought about it.

Always closed, never a problem.  First was 17 yrs old, 2nd 22 yrs old, this one 9 yrs old.  (moved each time and left the old dishwashers behind)

Mine is open but it stays open just a bit--never opens all the way.

My dishwasher is always open a bit along with my front loading washer and dryer.

I always keep dishwasher closed. Just when it finishes washing I open it and give the racks a shake to shake off water and it stays open until dishes are dry. I never  let the dishwasher dry the dishes.

I just ran mine yesterday to make sure the hoses are all still good.  I use it for added storage and just hand wash the few items I need day to day.  I keep it closed securely every day.

I run the dishwasher daily and keep the door slightly ajar.

I keep it closed.  When the dishwasher is through its wash cycle, I open the door fully to air dry the dishes.  Our DW gets used just about every day. Sometimes multiple times a day if we are entertaining or baking.
