Why are the Technique sets on clearance? I bought mine 3 yr ago & very pleased. Dishwasher safe, nothing sticks......what's the problem?

I think people didn't care for the color smart concept. I know I don't.

I think they are just going to cheaper stuff that has a higher profit margin. The Techniques II line was probably the best line they ever had.

Now, I mostly see hardcoat enamel which is the cheapest, less integrous, cookware out there. I think they call it something slightly different now but it's the same stuff that is just not a good choice. It chips easily and is just aluminum underneath. The only good aluminum cookware is hard anodized, which this hardcoat enamal stuff is NOT.

Also - if I remember correctly Emeril has a hard anodized set coming in February. Perhaps QVC is getting on the chef endorsed bandwagon completely.

I have some Technique's hard anodized pieces. I got them on clearance, several years ago. They are the heavy, non-dishwasher cookware. They are some of my favorite pieces. They don't have any coating in or out, but they don't stick and can take high heat.

I have pretty much banished my CE hard, enamel except for boiling water. I have never put them in the dishwasher, and have had to replace them once because the finish came off.

Cooks Essentials items are not being shown often as they once were. That is QVC's own brand so I wonder what is up with that. Bob Warden does sell the pressure cookers often, but he also is on more selling the Ninja items. They need to come out with a good cook set in CE that has the new coating that is safer than Teflon. One that will be non-stick and will last. Many of us would buy a new set, I think. The color smart items have a lot of bad reviews.
