I really didn't want to fuss, but I wanted something sweet for our Easter dessert. My usual cheesecake is just too heavy and frankly I didn't want the bother. Anyway , I bought a Sara Lee poundcake and topped it with sliced , sweetened, strawberries. I topped it with whipped heavy cream and it was delicious and hardly any work. As I mentioned in an earlier post , it is my birthday, but I declined a cake, it's just not my favorite. The simple poundcake with fruit was just right.

I made strawberry shortcake for dessert today, too. I made my sister's pound cake (it's so easy, if you can use a mixer, you can make this cake), sweetened sliced strawberries and President brand whipped cream.

Delicious! My mother would do the exact same pound cake strawberries dessert how refreshing.

I do love a good pound cake with berries--my fave is angel food cake with strawberries mixed in the whipped cream. I made a flourless pistachio cake--used ground pistachios and egg whites---very little sugar and it turned out so good--had mixed berries and whipped cream over top of my piece--DD put scoop of raspberry frozen oatmilk over hers---
