Thanks. I'll record it. The Tivo guide says 'David Venable makes spiced bacon skewers; two MasterChef Junior contestants make holidays cookies; and' something about Sunny Anderson. Not a fan of her, but the other two segments might be entertaining. Smiley Happy

Thank you for this. I don't care for RR, and not a big David fan, but will record it anyway. {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Re: David Venable On Rachael Ray

Just watched David's segment on Rachel Ray's show - he did a breakfast "bread pudding" with canadian bacon, asparagus, English muffins, and eggs, topped with a fresh Hollandaise sauce. Then thick cut bacon skewers with brown sugar, and can't remember what else, sprinkled on and baked. I could almost taste that!

I think David and Rachel are both just very nice, down-to-earth people and enjoy both of them. They work really well together in the kitchen. Smile

Thanks for the heads up on this! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

You definitely do have to take some of his recipes with a grain of salt! But all good things in moderation... at least the bacon in the breakfast casserole was Canadian bacon... but it was still bacon! {#emotions_dlg.laugh} I doubt I will try the other. Smile

I saw him on RR today. I thought he did quite well but it was obvious most of the audience had no idea who he was because they didn't react to his little jokes. Also his hollandaise that he made in the blender didn't work at all,lol! Rachael obviously loves him, they were having a mutual love fest,lol!

I don't normally watch RR, but just happened to be watching today. When David started to make the Hollandaise sauce I started cringing... I knew what was going to happen. The Vitamix on Rachel's set was a Next Generation Vitamix with the wide bottom 64 oz. container with the 4 inch blade. Because of its wide base, that container is not suitable for processing anything under 2 cups. Obviously, neither RR nor David were aware that there would not be enough ingredients in the container to cover the blades; therefore, the Hollandaise sauce couldn't process properly and, as you saw, it didn't. A smaller container should have been used on the machine instead of the large container.

The same issue arose when Sunny Anderson made her pesto sauce. Again, the amount of ingredients was not enough to cover the blades. When Sunny saw the ingredients were not processing, she grabbed the tamper and started tamping, which didn't solve the problem because the problem was lack of sufficient ingredients to cover the blades. So, Sunny, with the machine still running, removed the lid and started tamping. Well, anyone who owns a Vitamix knows you don't use the tamper without the lid on the container because you never want the tamper to come anywhere near the blades. As could be expected, the blades bit into the tamper and Sunny let go of the tamper. The tamper took flight, along with some of the pesto, which ended up on walls, counter, faces and hair too.

All for the lack of a proper size container for the task at hand. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}
