Yeah, me too. It's a reasonably-priced good source of protein ... and all you have to do to "prepare" it is open the container! lol

I try to eat low-sodium, too. For the amount of sodium difference in the serving sizes, I get the regular and cut my salt intake in other places.

My favorite fruit with cottage cheese is fresh, juicy pieces of mango.
Fresh peaches or pears would be my second choice.

I love it!
I frequently make my cottage potatoes, which calls for large curd, so that's what I buy.
DH eats it plain. I like it with apple butter. I used to eat it with three-bean salad.

That would be a big fat, NO. Reminds me of really spoiled lumpy milk.

I don't love cottage cheese, but I do eat it. I usually buy Trader Joe's full fat SMALL curd. I just cannot do LARGE curd. It is so juicy and reminds me of curdled milk. Gag!
I put it in scrambled eggs, egg salad, tuna salad and on top of riced cauliflower before adding sauce (I can use much less sauce this way).
I do remember years ago my mom using it in lasagne instead of ricotta. But she belonged to the scoop of cottage cheese in 1/2 of a canned peach for lunch every day group (probably after working out with Jack LaLanne on tv.😀)

@SoCal Bred --oh that sounds really good!! Think I will try that combo soon!!

@Jo1313 --I think mixing both would be much more flavorful than just ricotta---you would have to use a blender or stick blender to smooth out the cottage cheese first than mix the 2 together. To me, ricotta is pretty bland tasting--cottage cheese especially with chives is alot better tasting-----will try that combo next time I make a lasagna.

@wagirl ...Yes ricotta is bland..I could eat it right out of the container..When using it in baked ziti or lasagna..I add 1 raw egg.. lots of grating cheese, garlic powder and parsley..mixed in ricotta before going on the pasta and then into the oven
