DD just called from Wegmans saying it's a da*n zoo. She asked if I remembered the super bowl was tomorrow. Heck no, I didn't know, I hate football. I would have warned her otherwise. She announced she is getting the basics and hightailing it out of there.
She likes grocery shopping expect for a couple days before major holidays or when there is snow forecast. Her theory on snowstorms is people think they are going to be stranded til spring and it's going to be a Donner party situation.
Have you braved the grocery store yet this weekend? Are they super busy in your neck of the woods?

I've had the ingredients for my SB Menu for a week now. I like to have appetizers
during the game. This year its the Traders Joes copycat recipe for spinach/kale dip
with cut up veggies. So good and already prepared.
Homemade chicken taquitos - prepared and ready to bake.
Taco stuffed mini sweet peppers. And for dessert, blueberry brownies.
And I LOVE football.
Oh, that was too much info.
To answer the question, I don't know if stores are crowded. I don't need to go. But I never shop the day before Thanksgiving.
Crazy!!

I got my shopping done on Wednesday, but I agree with your DD on snowstorms. People lose their minds.

We don't do weekends at all. He, sometimes goes out early to the $ store I stay home and cook stuff that I only eat on weekends.
Our day is MOn. everybody is back to work , kids back in school. Except nowdays hardly any kids go to school any more . More of them are out then attend.
If I had kids they would go to school since you still pay taxes into the school whether they go or not, or have kids or not. I'd want to be rid of them. LOL

I heard this was the weekend but keep forgetting what teams are playing. Right now - can't tell you - hear it and dismiss it.
Am sure Wegmans is loaded like I found it last day of year - made a U-TURN and left the parking lot.
(I) don't grocery shop weekends - working Moms bring the kiddies along - so shop weekdays when retired folks shuffle around with me.

@SharkE Wow, that’s interesting. In my state you have to go to school until sixteen.

they're all home schooled any more.
homeschool dot com says varies between states even if you don't send them to school you have to comply with bunch of rules and they watch
what you do.
I'd just send them and not fool with it. I thought you just kept them home and taught them whatever you knew, but, looks like the law has eyes on you and it's not that easy.
Learn something new everyday.

I've seen lots of advertising for the super bowl on tv, radio, newspaper. I knew when it was, but think I would still know. The stores had sales specific for the superbowl. I haven't been out to the store today. I didn't shop this week, but usually grocery shop on Friday after work.

LOL, NO!!
I don't care about football, but hate those predictable store crowds.
So I splurged yesterday evening and ordered an Aldi delivery instead. All I really needed was the usual weekly perishables, and I had a $10.00 credit anyhow.
