My daughter requested a new crockpot for Christmas. I know she wants it to be programmable and have a locking lid. But other than that there are so many out there to choose from.  One even has an electric stirrer attachment, another has a meat probe, etc.

Just wondered if anyone has bought a new crockpot recently that you just love?  Thank you!

It may not have all the features but I recently bought a Willias-Sonoma 7 qt. with the liner you can browning liner for half price.  It is the only crock pot I've had in many years that cooks great and doesn't boil everything to death.  But it was expensive even half price.

THey have a newer model with a copper colored liner but it is very shallow.  I didn't like that one, but haven't tried it.

On America's Test Kitchen, they said the stirring option didn't work well because it didn't reach the edge.

Someone brought an All Clad 7 qt slow cooker to our Chili Cookoff earlier this year to the envy of all the cooks in the building.

Upon reading reviews, it seems it's not well made and everyone complains about the non-stick coating coming off, so I am holding off until a new version is released.

That said, I have a Hamilton Beach brand and 3 Crock Pot brands and they all work great.

One is programmable, the rest are manual.

Love them all for different things.

I bought a non programable crockpot two years ago.  It has a switch on the front so I can put things in it, use a lamp timer, and have it come on later in the day.

I have had one with a locking lid.  Hated all that mess.  The outer part does get really warm, then you have to hold it to unlock the lid.  It's going to goodwill.

Things definately have a "best" time and that's usually 6 hours.

That is a great idea about the lamp timer! I will have to try that.

Been using Cuisinart 3 in 1 for years.  Browns, slow cooks, sautes, steams all in one and the temperature settings on slow cook seem to be just right.  It has no locking lid.

I bought two in the last year.  The smaller one is 4-Qt - Procter Silex from Amazon.  The other one is 7-QT ....  think it's Hamilton Beach brand.  I got it at JCP.

Nothing fancy ... just heat controls.  The larger one has a locking lid.

Both cook well - I use them a lot and never had a problem.

Be sure to get her some slow cooker cook books to go along with the pot!
