Copper colored oven, refrigerator and dishwasher . . . Anyone?

I am starting to plan some kitchen renovations and will be combining some old with new.   I am seriously considering copper colored appliances.  I am starting my research now and was curious if any one out there has a copper fridge, oven and dishwasher?  Thanks much for taking the time to respond.

Not related to copper colored but, FWIW........

In my research for a dishwasher, I was told & from reading DW reviews to make sure the interior is stainless steel & to avoid digital controls.

Yikes- I'm beginning the SAME SEARCH and for MY SPACE, I think copper would be WONDERFUL!

Where have you seen it, @Yabbadabba?

I absolutely go with the stainless steel interior, @Mz iMac, but my present DW has an electronic panel that works fine. I would think anything but very basic equipment probably has electronic controls by now. Have you found differently?

I've seen the copper appliances and think they're fabulous for the more traditional kitchen.  Stainless steel is still probably great for modern decor.  You should consider how bright the copper is and what effect multiple appliances in this color will have on the room.  Is there a more burnished copper available in at least some appliances?  I like traditional/Victorian/cottage styles and so would always choose copper over stainless steel.

My refrigerator is from the previous homeowner and is roughly 25 years old, so when that gives up the ghost I'll look for something that blends with my traditional decor.  It was stark white, but I painted it to match the cabinets and removed the door handle.  This is one of a long line of painting don'ts I've ignored with satisfactory results.

@violann

Sears has a huge selection of non digital controls for their DW.

So far I have started to look at blue star ovens.  I don't know if they have refrigerators and dishwashers to match.  The oven is a lot more than I ever dreamed of spending.  I am trying to price everything out first to bring some reality into the equation and then I will see what my husband and I are comfortable spending.  Lucky for me, I have always liked copper.  My existing granite should work and I already have copper in my backsplash.  My husband can do the tile work and I will refinish our existing cabinets.  I recently had an opportunity to do that for my in laws.  I learned a whole lot and they came out pretty nice.  My largest expense will be appliances it looks like.  I really don't enjoy the process of making these decisions.  I am not the best at pulling my ideas togetherSmiley Happy

It sounds like we may have similar tastes.  My home is traditional also. I really would gravitate to something more burnished if It exists. I wondered if it would dumb to just have a copper stove and black for the fridge and dishwasher.  Congrats on having the courage to paint your fridge, that's pretty cool!!

What color cabinets will you have?  It depends on the kitchen, but it might be a plus to have some appliances that are not copper, as if the copper is very bright it could overwhelm the room.  You don't need to match all the appliances.  Just make sure the cabinets, appliances, flooring, and countertops all look good together.

Thinking of an ivory / cream with some distressing in the seams

That sounds great!  When I redid my small kitchen, I chose ivory cabinets in oak.  The kitchen designer where I bought the cabinets told me not to get the oak with the grain because it wouldn't look good in white.  I had no sample to work with but went ahead with it anyway.  Well, they were fabulous, and even she agreed when she came to look at the kitchen.  I thought about getting a glaze on them but didn't.

I have a stove with a white top (it's gas) and a black glass door with a white door at the bottom where the broiler is.  It looks fine with my off-white cabinets.

I'm no expert, but it seems to me that a unique stove would provide more bang for your decorating buck and resale value than a fridge and dishwasher.  Can you keep what you have now and simply buy panels to change the fronts of them?  You might also try painting them as I did.  That would allow you to match them to your cabinets and spend the money on the stove.
