Re: Copper Chef disappointment

My DH purchased one pan at retail.  He knows I am a fan of square pans.

It  was great at being non-stick the a few times I used it.  Now, I have to soak and use a non scratch scrubby on it.  Plus the bottom is getting dark and I am afraid the finish will wear off if I scrub it.  Some of it already has.  See where I tried to clean it with Barkeepers Friend? What good is it if it looks awful in no time at all and food sticks.

it’s just another fad product that will quickly die off unless they improve it.

Re: Copper Chef disappointment

I don't like the quality of the Copper Chef either.  I returned the lidded square fry pan since it was so thin, and the egg stuck to the bottom even though the temp was on medium/low.......No wonder they are clearing out this fry pan in ITKWD today, stating it is not coming back as a single item.....

Re: Copper Chef disappointment

I have seldom had a relationship with nonstick that was perfect. I bought the deep sided , regular, and accessories group about 6 months ago also 8" from Wal-mart.  I haven't had a food sticking problem with any but the small one. I do love the large deep one. The outside of it is dinged ,with a spot I cannot remove and it has the look of @Carmie 's.

I have never seen  any of those in Eric's demos !Smiley Happy

Word of caution for those keeping thiers... the little stainless steel steamer DOES KNICK THE INSIDE  of pan when used (same as metal utensils the caution against in instructions etc. ) I used mine in the pan for the first time today when baking a ham and have little dings right where the little feet are !Woman SadWoman Mad back to my cast iron next time.

I am not in need of cooking pans currently , but when I am I will try  Curtis Stone's . HSN I do not believe I have seen any review less than 5 stars .

I've been watching the Copper Chef presentations for a long time and finally took the plunge last weekend.  I bought K45519.  I washed it when it arrived and the next day I decided to try making popcorn in it.  While it worked beautifully for that, I was shocked when I washed it and noticed that the coating on the bottom (outside of pan) had already flaked off!  What??!!!  I have a glass top stove, and no dishwasher, so nothing in my only use should have caused this.

Has anyone else had this happen?  What concerns me is if it comes off so easily on the outside, will the same thing happen on the inside?  copper chef.jpg

Send it back as defective, after calling cs.

Re: Copper Chef disappointment

@okaywitheasypay  I don’t have Curtis Stone’s  pans, but I do have four of his baking sheets.

I have to tell you that I have tried to kill them, but they still look like new.  I had to soak one overnight once because it had baked on BBQ sauce on it, but it came clean in the morning.

i am thinking about getting a few frying pans from his line.  I don’t need sauce pans.

I have Revereware Stainless steel pans that are almost 45 years old  and a few pieces that were my mother’s that are even older and it all looks like new...can’t kill that stuff either.

[ Edited ]

I fell for that hype only to trash the pan I bought about 10 months ago...at first everything was NON-STICK and good -- went downhill fast.  Hot spots, things stuck and bottom coloring peeled off!

I bought Curtis Stone fry pans and cookware and I'll never buy another Copper Chef, Cooks Essentials, or any other brand.  I just hope his brand is NOT blended to Q (with the merger) as I would hate to see him become just another "chef" with his name on a product line JUST to sell sell sell.

@Carmie

you won't be disappointed in CS fry pans (or the durapan) as far as my experience!

Re: Copper Chef disappointment

I only have one piece, the big square pan.  I've had absolutely no trouble with it.  No flaking, staining and nothing has ever stuck to it.  Looks like brand new.

Re: Copper Chef disappointment

My food doesn't seem to stick but, the residue from splashes of grease or juices of whatever you are cooking sticks to the sides, I have been trying to find answers but no avail. Some say use grease some say no grease. I have 2, 9" skillets I use a light coating in one and the other none but they both stick, Same thing with the larger skillet  and the casserole they do the same thing. They were great at first I got hooked and bought quite a few different pans and told my friends but now I am getting second thoughts. Any suggestions? I have tried copper chef but no answers.

@Catlady NicoleFind a box it fits in and send it back.  If you didn't keep the packing slip, go to your "order status" and print a mailing label, etc.   You don't necessarily have to use the original box.

Re: Copper Chef disappointment

@homedecor1     I also love the Curtis  Stone cookware.  (I bought Gotham Steel from QVC.  It is just "okay", but not near the quality of Curtis Stone cookware.)
