Cookbook for those who mail homemade goodies

It was just released yesterday and arrived today: The Flying Brownie: 100 Recipes for Homemade Treats That pack Easily, Ship Fresh, and Taste Great. It looks like a winner, with recipes for homemade goodies that ship well, including bars, cookies, candies, quick breads, and even some savory treats such as oven-roasted spiced chickpeas,garlic and dill pretzels, pita chips, baked banana chips, and chipotle-lime pepitas. There's a chapter about the history of the CARE package, instructions on how to pack a care package, and - when necessary - recipes that need special packing instructions include them. Best of all, each recipe tells you how long each particular item will stay fresh. I pre-ordered it and paid $12 and change; it's currently $16 and change, but since it was just released yesterday I'm sure the price will come back down.

For those of you who send packages to loved ones in the military or away at school or whatever, I'd definitely recommend it. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}
