OK, admittedly I don't do a lot of cooking, therefore Cookbook Corner isn't a category I pay a lot of attention to. However, as I put together my holiday gift list books are always added as a potential gift. I was going to purchase the cookbook Soup Night featured on last night's In the Kitchen With David. The QVC price is $18.96 plus 6.72 for s&h. With Illinois sales tax my total cost would be $28.
I thought I'd check out Barnes & Noble and Amazon before buying, and the same book is $12 at both places. I would not even pay to ship it from Amazon because I have other things in my cart which would make the item qualify for free s&h. Of course at Barnes & Noble I can pick it up locally. Therefore, including tax, I can get the same book for less $15. Now unless the QVC copy is a hardback (not specified)-- or is signed by the author -- I think the price difference is ridiculous.
